My Secretary


My secretary is fiction
But I hand her my thoughts
Before I go to bed
So she can correct the mistakes
And put them into a compatable format.

Next morning
She hands me the concise version
Before I go to work.

Every day I muse,
" This is nothing like what I gave her last night!"

The other week I took her to task over the problem.

And she replied,
"Quite, but people understand this copy
Far more than that."

So this is what I work to.
Her script.
After all,
This kind of work is what I pay her to do.
