I take a shot of Vodka
as I sit and reflect upon my life
and the world we live in;
the happy,
the sad,
the depression,
the lack
of common sense I've had
in the past.

I gaze at the stars
as my thoughts drift afar,
and wonder aloud
if it ever gets easier
or ever gets better
than it is right now.

Growing up is hard,
so much work and confusion,
greed and mistrust,
you sit and you reason...
why all the fuss?

The life that we know,
the life that we live
is slowly drowning
in all of our sin.
It's going to hell,
there's no stopping the pattern,
all the torture and despair,
the world is this way for a reason,
it gets worse with each passing day,
of every new season.

So how do we change it?
Make it better, somehow?
How do you stop the inevitable,
the whats and the hows?

I sit and I ponder,
engrossed in my thoughts
as I swallow another shot
and the lights fade out.
