In my mind's eye -

I see the snow flakes
floating carelessly down,
the ground is a puffy white,
and snow crunching is
the only audible sound.

I'm walking alone
in my own Winter Wonderland,
with thoughts of you and I
running wildly unending,
through my head.

The cold air gives me a chill
but is refreshing to feel,
I imagine walking beside you,
with you and the snow being all I can see,
gazing at your face in the December weather,
the perfect picturesque to me.

I look around in awe
of the beauty of this scene,
so simple and obscure is this moment
that my heart fails to beat.

I'm lost in this instant,
wishing I could freeze it for an eternity's time.
I walk through the snow
with you by my side,
hoping and praying with every living ounce of me
for this moment to come alive.

The snow flakes are still drifting,
cascading downward slowly,
in their reverie, I am waking
to an unreality.
It's something in my mind,
a dream of sorts, you see,
though no matter what I try,
you and I can never be.
And though it is my darkest secret,
this harbored love of mine,
I will tell all the world
my winter fantasy of you,
in hopes that snowy skies
may bring us together and
make this Christmas wish come true.
