World of today-World of war
I was walking down the street,
When something fell before my feet
I bent down to see what it was,
And its fall; what was the cause.

Stunned, I stood there,
I could not move
To see what was lying
Before my shoe.

Shocked, I picked up the wounded bird,
Stained with blood
Was this fair maiden of peace-
The beautiful, white bird.

And from it’s body,
Stuck out an arrow
This caused in me,
Great sorrow.

As life slowly ebbed out,
From the body of the bird,
From my eye, dropped a tear
And my heart was filled with fear…
I let out a long sigh,
Did ”peace” really die?

My mind was filled with questions and questions
About nuclear bombs and explosions
Why war and no peace?
Can’t man ever live in ease?

All these questions filled my mind,
It reminded me about the cruel nature of mankind.
But what could I do?
And against whom?

For the world,
I could only worry
And for the bird,
Feel sorry.
