When we are suspicious of our lover
Half-drawn curtains on scientific beaches
Discarded hearts and discandying arrays
Jagged rocks thrown amongst the pebbles

A while away footless pawns climb
The stairs down to Heaven are broken
But the lift up to Hell is working

Look out far and you'll see Cupid
Cupid with a rucksack, beard and turban
He missed the lovers and pierced the angel's wings

A stones throw and falling footsteps
Trodden into faces and footsteps
Untrodden and vanished

Fallen into the still
Where eyes watch beneath
Who's eyes, only yours
