This is a short poem I wrote about my oldest grandson when he was 3.
TYLER JAMES  (before his birthday in 2005, 3 years old)  by Maria Mize

See my muscles?
         he strikes a pose…
Standing in his pajama bottoms
         flexing his muscles.

I smile.

His eyes open wide ---
There’s a monster in my bedroom!

Then he pushes a button on his wrist
      and he is a Power Ranger
      with side-kicks and sword.
I’ll get that monster, Meema.

Later, as we go walking
      he picks a wildflower for his mama.
What about me? 
And he quickly picks another
      for me.
