the Dragon Guaridans
Prologue

The Dragon Guardians are a group of selected teenagers. Each teenager possess magical powers; natural elements that once awakened become a part of them. The magical powers allow them to work together with ferocious dragons as a very powerful team. Their duty as Dragon Guardians is to protect the world from dark lords and armies of evil creatures. First, the Dragonmaster must find six teenagers who are suited for the duty as Dragon Guardians. The time for a Dragon Guardian or any other dragon protectors is greater then it was in the past. A dark lord is returning to power regaining the support of his many lords. Countries begin to surrender to him hoping they will be spared from his wrath.

Chapter One: The beginning

In the capital city of Enthranx, legendary Dragonmaster Seishiro calls the Dragon Sages to a meeting to choose six teenagers who shall become Dragon Guardians. Seishiro has vast knowledge of the ancient language making him able to conjure up spells only fools dream of making. He rides a white stallion through the city made out of granite with marble casings. His cloak flaps in the wind slowing down his speed. The wind chills him to the bone making him pull his cloak tighter to his body. He comes to a white building that is the Temple of dragons, a white building shining bright in the sunlight. He jumps off his horse and runs up the steps. Many squires come to him but Dragonmaster Seishiro quickly dismisses them from his view. He walks into a small room seeing the ancient Dragon Sages sitting next to the fire. Seishiro takes a seat in an armchair taking his place in the circle. He smoothes out the creases in his robes taking off his cloak.

“How was your trip?” asks one of the oldest Sages. His body concealed in robes.

“Um, it was very nice I guess. Perhaps you should visit after all of this mess is fixed.” speaks Dragonmaster Seishiro.

“Maybe later in the year.” admits the Sage. “However, we must talk matters of the importance.”

“Indeed, a tough decision has come upon us as our last team of Dragon Guardians did not work as well as we thought.” said the youngest member of the Dragon Sages.

“Only time can choose the next Dragon Guardians, not some stupid tournament.” argues the oldest member of the Dragon Sages. “I have told all of you over and over but you never listen to me. We need to stick to the ancient prophecy.”

“It is always the ancient prophecy with you. Why can’t we use adults instead of some mere children?” shouts the younger Dragon Sage. “We can control an adult with our laws. A mere child would only ignore.”

“Because children still listen to their hearts not their minds. It is easy for them to make the right decision because they listen to their hearts.” declares the older Dragon Sage.

“A decision we must make but we even cannot make. The gods will have to decide this one for us,” advises Dragonmaster Seishiro. “Besides, the dragons always make the right choices, but I fear that the dark lords are always the first ones to find the chosen ones.”

“I wonder what dragons will come this time. Will the gods send us their fastest dragons or their most powerful dragons.” speaks the youngest Dragon Sage. “Or will they be cunning like a fox?”

“Who knows? The gods work in mysterious ways.” says Dragonmaster Seishiro.

“The dark lords are coming forth from their hiding places. They bring destruction to our brethren countries. The one we fear is rising back to power with his many lords.” declares the old Dragon Sage in a trance-like tone.

As the Dragon Sages argue amongst each other, Dragonmaster Seishiro fears that the rumors are true about a child is being hunted by a squad of minotaurs named Syaoran. A couple of paces from them, a green eyed and fired coloured hair child named Syaoran hides in the shadows of a dark alley hiding from the squad of Minotaurs. Syaoran sees his girlfriend Jenny be hurt by the squad of Minotaurs. His eyes blaze with fire as Syaoran begins to feel his inner powers. He runs out of the dark alley charging towards the squad of Minotaurs. The Minotaurs turn around just in time to see Syaoran throwing a fireball at them. A Minotaur swings an axe at him but Syaoran ducks down to the ground. He rolls out of the way, as the same Minotaur tries the attack once more. Getting a ounce of luck, one of the Minotaurs manages to kick Syaoran in the ribs knocking the breath out of him. The Minotaur throws him right beside Jenny. Jenny watches Syaoran lie there, as the group of Minotaurs advance towards him to beat him up some more. A Fire dragon flies down from the sky landing in front of the squad of Minotaurs. It roars loudly at the squad of Minotaurs scaring them away. The Fire dragon turns to the two teenagers picking up Syaoran. The Fire dragon flaps its large bat-like wings soaring towards the capital city of Enthranx. The Fire dragon lands inside the Sacred Temple of Dragons. The legendary Dragonmaster greets the both of them escorting them to the middle of the temple where the rest of the team is waiting. Syaoran stands on a red circle right in front of a dragon sword. He discovers five teenagers finding three boys excluding him and two girls.

“Today, six teenagers have been chosen to protect the world from evil. They have already proven that they are worthy because they fought against the dark creatures who were sent to kill them.” declares Dragonmaster Seishiro in a booming voice. “By fighting with your powers, you have proven yourselves worthy of being Dragon Guardians so wield the dragon swords in front of you.”

The six teenagers place their hands on the dragon swords and a white light shines down on them. They wield the dragon swords in front of them. The white light shines brightly on them, magically, giving them the uniform of the Dragon Guardians. The uniform of the Dragon Guardians is silk tunic or silk blouse and silk pants or silk skirt. The boys are wearing the tunic and pants while the two girls are wearing the blouse and knee length skirts. A dragon chest plate is on top of the tunic or blouse. The colour of each part of the uniform matches to the colour of the blades of the dragon swords. On top of their leather gloves, are rows of metal plates that reach from tip of their fingers to their elbows. Their leather boots have the same thing as their gauntlets reaching from the end of the top of their foot to their knees. A metal sole rests on the bottom of their leather boots. A silk hooded cloak flaps behind them in the passing wind in the temple.

“What, no chain of mail? Your really expect me to believe that these silk clothes will protect us in a fight.” says Syaoran.

“If you look closer into the fabric, you will see that the silk fabric is miniature dragon scales that only appeared to look like silk. It will protect you in a fight but you still get some injuries like broken arms or legs even cracked ribs. The scales cannot protect from a brute attack. The point can still wedge itself past the scales.” advises the legendary Dragonmaster. “The same thing applies with your cloaks.”

“What about this metal?” asks Syaoran once more.

“The metal on your gauntlets and boots were made from the forges of Enthranx metal smiths and they are the best of their kind. The metal cannot be damaged even from the strongest attack,” declares the Dragonmaster. “The chest plates are a gift from the gods; they will never break and will always protect you.”

The Dragon Guardians gaze at their new clothes. Syaoran tries to break away from the group making his way to the direction.

“Where are you going?” demands Seishiro.

“I am leaving. I can’t be a dragon protector.” admits Syaoran.

“And why is that?” asks Seishiro.

“My past; it still haunts me everyday.” says Syaoran. “I cannot be a dragon protector; not after what happened to my parents.”

Chapter Two: The Break up

He manages to get out of the sacred temple even with the guards following him. They try to shoot him down with sleeping darts but he manages to evade the darts. Syaoran dashes down the streets running as fast he can. His face shows that he is scared but as soon as he sees his girlfriend, his eyes light up with joy. Syaoran hurries down the streets running to meet his girlfriend Jenny. Jenny wears a silver dress with her red hair up in a ponytail. She has a rapier tied around her waist. He meets her underneath an old oak tree and Jenny turns to him looking at the Guardian uniform. Her expression of seeing the Guardian uniform is not what he expected at all and the worst is still to come. Syaoran has a smile on his face but it quickly disappears when he sees that she is not happy. The legendary Dragonmaster and Syaoran's team hid themselves in the branches above them. One of the male Dragon Guardians lets out a quiet whistle as Jenny’s beauty struck them immensely. One of the female Dragon Guardians glares at Jenny, as she had fallen in love with Syaoran. She knows that she has not said a single word to him but she just cannot help herself be in love with him. She thinks that they should be together. However, it could be that she finds him to be extremely attractive, which could be the reason she is in love.

“This is an unusual surprise, so now you are the leader of the Dragon Guardians where it’s very easy to die,” admits Jenny. “Syaoran, we need to talk about our relationship like I don’t know if I can be with you anymore because of this.”

“You are going to break up with me because my life has taken the path as the leader of the Dragon Guardians!” shouts Syaoran.

“Settle down; I know your past haunts you and you told me that you would never take this job especially after what happened to your parents.” says Jenny.

“Well, my past is catching up to me and there is nothing I can do about it. Maybe it is time I should make amends to my past,” says Syaoran. “Maybe I should become a Dragon Guardian.”

“I knew this relationship was bad from the start,” admits Jenny.

“Hey, you were the one kissed me first. The only reason this relationship is horrible is because
You are a spoiled rotten brat.” shouts Syaoran. “Jenny wants this; Jenny wants that. Jenny is a harlot dressed up like a girl of noble blood!”

Jenny’s mouth is hanging wide open, unable to believe that her devoted boyfriend of three years had said that to her. She racks what she has for a brain to get him back finally coming up with a plan that should not fail. Jenny puts on her cutest face batting her long eyelashes at him.

“Syaoran, I know you don’t mean what you said to me,” says Jenny in a seductive tone. “I will be willingly to forgive you if you get on your knees and plead for me to keep you.”

She stands close to him, her breasts lightly touching him. She trails her fingernails in a circle on his arm. Jenny leans in to kiss him on the lips. Just then, Syaoran open handed slaps her across the face. He meant to punch her but he couldn’t bring himself to punch her. Her cheek starts to swell reddening every second. Jenny’s eyes start to swell up with tears.

“Our relationship is over.” speaks Syaoran. “And I am so glad to tell you.”

Jenny starts bawling her head off, as she runs away. Syaoran stands underneath the oak tree. His mind tells him to follow her and plead her forgiveness for being so stupid and try to get her back. However, his heart tells him that she is not worth it. The legendary Dragonmaster and Syaoran's team jump down from their hiding spot and the legendary Dragonmaster puts a hand on Syaoran's shoulder.

“I know it’s not a good time to say this but you and your team have to get going to the Guardian Academy.” speaks the legendary Dragonmaster. “We need to go through some stolen goods to find school supplies and pack up your stuff.”

“Screw her; I been meaning to break up with her for weeks.” admits Syaoran bringing a smile to his face.

“But did you have to hurt that beautiful face of hers?” asks Dragonmaster Seishiro. "Even that I am old, I can enjoy to see a beautiful face like hers."

Syaoran only shakes his head slowly walking away. The female Dragon Guardian, who loves him, runs up to him. She twines their fingers together offering comfort and to secretly get close to him. Syaoran smiles to her noticing how cute she is.

Chapter Three: The Dragons

The Dragon Guardians walk back to the Sacred Temple of Dragons getting all the things they need for the Guardian Academy. That night, the team got together to know each other. Syaoran is the teenager who pulled out the dragon sword with the red blade. The second person was Kuro who is the Snow Dragon Guardian and the teenager who pulled out the dragon sword with the white blade. The third person was Fai, Sea Dragon Guardian, and is the teenager who pulled out the dragon sword with the sapphire coloured blade. The fourth person is Kalin the Earth Dragon Guardian who pulled the dragon sword with the emerald coloured blade. The fifth person is Yukito the Sky Dragon Guardian who pulled out the dragon sword with the sky blue blade. The last person is Sakura the Thunder Dragon Guardian who pulled out the dragon sword with the black blade. She’s the one who has fallen in love with Syaoran. Unusually, their minds linked together as they quietly talk to each other in their minds.

“My name is Kuro. I am from the north where all the snow is. Some farm helper of my fathers’ taught me how to fight. I used to get pick on by the bullies. He taught me how to defend myself with a stick like using it as a sword.” says, a short snow white hair and brown eyes, Kuro. “I was attacked by a snow beast.”

“The name is Fai. I am from the south, right next to the tropical waters. Where I lived, you have to know how to fight if you want to stay alive so I guess that is how I am a good fighter.” says, a teenage with short blue hair and blue eyes, Fai. “My parents own a surf shop helping out all the surfers who live there.”

“My name is Kalin. I lived on a farm all my life. I just liked to fool around thinking one day I would become a great female swordsmen. That is the reason I’m a pretty good fighter.” admits, a teenage with shoulder length green hair with curls and dazzling green eyes, Kalin. “My parents owned an orchard”

“Yukito is my name. I am from the windy city and just like Fai, I grew up on the danger section of the city. I taught myself how to fight from a book.” says, a teenage with short light blue hair and light blue eyes, Yukito. “I’m kind of smart. That is how I won my fight against some raiders who tried to jump me.”

“My name is Sakura. I am from village in the forest where it is very dangerous. My mother taught me how to fight because I am good looking compared to the villagers. The soldiers who are supposed to keep the peace force beautiful girls to their rooms and rape them. My mother wanted to protect me but could not always fight for me so she taught what she knew about fighting with a sword.” admits, a teenage shoulder length straight blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes, Sakura in a cool sexy feminine tone of voice. “The soldiers would have raped me a thousand of times if my mother didn’t teach me how to fight. I managed to kill some dark soldiers before a dragon showed up to save me. I’m never going back.”

“The name is Syaoran. I have no home after my parents were murdered by Minotaurs. My parents were Dragon Swordsmen, the best dragon protectors ever. I was only nine when they were killed but my father managed to teach me some skill of a sword. However, I never knew I had powers like he once had.” Syaoran admits.

“Wait, isn’t your mother an elf?” speaks Fai. “My father told me a lot about them.”

“Yeah, I am a half elf. It is hard being the only half elf alive since the unholy crusade of that stupid king.” admits Syaoran. “I had lived with elves with my little sister for most part of my life until I had to leave. For the last three years, I was on the road with the person who is now my ex girlfriend.” Everyone is silent soaking up what they just learned about each other.

“How unusual, each one of you has trained yourselves to become legendary fighters. Something that has never happened in the legacy of the magical world.” a voice interrupts the silence in their heads.

“Who said that?” shouts Syaoran.

“We did. The Guardian dragons who chosen the all of you to become Dragon Guardians.” rings the voice in their minds again. “Our names are none of the matter as you must gain our trust before you can know our names. It’s the way we have chosen it but you may call us by the name of our powers.”

The Dragon Guardians nodded their heads in agreement with their dragons. That night, the newly Dragon Guardians headed to their rooms getting some sleep. Syaoran pulls the cloaked hood off his head showing the almost pointy ears underneath.

Chapter Four: A new relationship begins

That morning, the Dragon Guardians are rushed to the Enthranx train station, as they must catch the train to the Guardian Academy. The Guardian Academy is in a faraway place from Enthranx, way past the boundary lines. They board onto the train sitting at the back of the train with their hoods covering their heads. The Dragon Guardians close their eyes trying to recover the Z’s they lost. The train starts moving forwards. However, the platter of footsteps on the train wakening some new instinct of theirs. Possibly from the new powers waking up inside of them. The Dragon Guardians wield their swords as they climb onto the roof through the windows. Ninjas are on the roof who is trying to break into the train.

“Hey Ninjas! This is a private train and you must have a ticket and a school pass to get on this train.” shouts Syaoran. “Now put your hands up or you will get hurt.”

The Ninjas do back flips surrounding the Dragon Guardians. The Dragon Guardians make a tight circle around them holding their swords out at the ninjas. The ninjas strike at the Dragon Guardians knocking some of them off their feet. Sakura was one of the few but she slid off the side of the train. Syaoran quickly slides right towards grabbing her hand. Sakura now dangles from the side of the train with a raging river below them. A ninja moves towards them bringing his sword down on the both of them. Acting quickly, Syaoran kicks the ninja in the chest knocking him off the train. Syaoran pulls Sakura back onto the roof of the train and Sakura smiles at him appreciately. The Dragon Guardians finish off the rest of the ninjas just when they arrive at the school’s train station. They climb back into the train through the windows grabbing their stuff off the train seats. The Dragon Guardians exit the train walking out into the dark environment of the school village. They follow the new students behind some professor who leads them into a dark spooky forest with many creepy sounds coming from deep behind the trees. The Dragon Guardians kept their eyes out for anything strange should happen on the walk in the forest. Suddenly, Syaoran hears a twig snap behind a tree making him draw out his bow. He quickly puts an arrow to the bowstring pulling it back tightly. He aims the arrow at the tree waiting for something to move from behind the tree. Syaoran nods to his new friends who also draw their bows putting an arrow to their bowstrings. The Dragon Guardians silently move towards the tree pointing the arrows at the tree. They jump to the other side of the tree finding nothing to be there. They return to the group heading their way to the school. Behind some bushes lies the Guardian Academy, which stands proud in the creepy and quite spooky forest. The teacher leads to them up to the front doors of the Guardian Academy banging on the doors. The doors are open quickly to the fanastic school anyone has ever seen.

“Guys, I have really bad feeling about this place like something really bad is going to happen.” whispers Syaoran. “Like we are going to be invaded by an army of dark creatures.”

His new friends nod at him trusting every word he says. Just then, the sounds of explosions shake the room making the students scramble around in a spooked fashion. The Dragon Guardians just stand there wielding their swords. They use their powers on the ninjas defeating the ninjas in minutes. A celebration occurs, as it is the first battle they have won in a long time. Sakura pulls Syaoran onto the dance floor dancing close to him to get his attention.

She rubs her butt against the lower half of his body really getting his attention. Syaoran places his hand on her hips following her movements. Sakura grabs his hand moving his hand to the front of her lower half. Syaoran brushes his lips against the back of her neck to this response making Sakura shiver. Their new friends look at them with confused looks, wondering how two people who just met several hours ago react this way. Sakura grabs his hand pulling him towards the school. Syaoran follows after her lush, sexy curved body to the school finding himself shiver as the softness of her skin brushes against his hand. Her uniform barely conceals anything about her body making him sexually charged. He tries to push the desire out of his mind but he cannot help himself.

I am a sixteen year old teenage male and she is an extremely attractive sixteen year old teenage female, Syaoran thinks to himself, it is only natural for me to think that way. However, it would not be right to act that way.

Sakura smiles back to him seeing him deep in confusion. She too is sexually charged but being a girl, she can hide it. Sakura brings Syaoran to her room standing right up against the wall, next to the door to her room. Sakura stands close in front of her having his hands on her hips. Sakura smiles to Syaoran putting her arms around his neck. She brings him closer to her body kissing him full on the lips. Syaoran tightens his grip around her waist pressing his body against her sexy body. Their hearts are beating loudly, as they kiss each other. Their breaths are short, as they are eager to kiss each other to feel the warmth of each other’s lips. The two of them burst into the room and Syaoran kicks the door shut. Sakura leads Syaoran to the bed pulling him down onto the bed and on top of her. They just lay there kissing and holding until the both of them get tired. They now lay next to each other, Sakura positioning herself up against his body with a smile on her face. Syaoran has his face buried into the pillow with a smile on his face too. Their new friends know nothing of this but tomorrow morning at breakfast, they might figure out something.

Two hours before their first class, the first ray of sunshine creeps into Sakura's room shining onto the two lovers. Sakura pulls the blanket over her head trying to stay sleep before she has to go to class. She moves her body away from Syaoran burrowing deep underneath the covers. However, Sakura gets out of bed walking to her personal bathroom. Her personal bathroom is just a regular bathroom with granite counter tops, stainless steel faucet and sink, toilet and shower. Sakura turns on the shower walking into a hot blast of water. She quickly showers coming out of the shower all squeaky clean. Sakura quickly dresses in the bathroom walking out to find out that Syaoran is still sleeping. She sits at the edge of the bed brushing her hands over Syaoran’s shoulder.

“Syaoran, time to wake up. We can’t be late for our first class. It is going to be sword-playing. Don’t want to be late for that class.” speaks Sakura in a gentle tone.

Syaoran groans a little rolling over to face her. He sits himself straight up looking into Sakura’s sparkling blue eyes. He tries to sense something that will make him want to think about a relationship between the both of them. Even do he finds her extremely attractive but he just needs something more. Something like she loves him also, he made that mistake once with Jenny but this time he is not going to make that same mistake. A spark in her eyes tells him that she loves him also making Syaoran kiss Sakura on the lips. Syaoran does not say anything to her about what he was thinking, as he needs some time to think about it. After getting dress and slinging the sheath’s strap around his shoulder, the two Dragon Guardians walk out of the room proceeding to the Great hall for breakfast. The two of them smell porridge and toast for breakfast. They sit across from their new friends finding the look of anguish on their faces.

“What is going on?” demands Syaoran biting into a piece of toast.

“Someone called the Shogun has declared war on the school. He is sending his Ninja lord with their army of ninjas to fight against anyone who does not leave the school by noon. Moreover, we have to stand and fight because everyone is expecting us to.” whines Kalin trying to make Syaoran get them out of here.

“Sounds like a challenge to the guardian authority, maybe this Shogun needs to be taught a lesson.” advises Syaoran with a smile on his face. “That could be very interesting to see what he is issuing against dragon protectors.”

“No, the right thing to do is to run. Enthranx cannot afford to lose more dragon protectors than needed. Run to the hidden village of the elves in the Spooky forest.” speaks one of the Guardian dragons. “We will escort you to the Enthranx castle for more protection. This shogun wouldn’t dare attacking Enthranx.”

“Come on, I want to kick some ninja butt. Can’t we see how the battle goes at first?” pleads Syaoran. “I promise to leave the minute the battle goes out of our favor.”

“Fine, but we are coming to the school to watch over you and to teach some of the basic dragon protector fighting moves so you might have the chance of staying alive in this battle against the Ninja lord.” admits another Guardian dragon. “Meet us in the courtyard in five minutes, younglings.”

The Dragon Guardians bolt out of the Great hall meeting their Guardian dragons in the courtyard. The Guardian dragons stand proud in the courtyard towering over twenty five feet tall with their scales glistening in the sunlight. Syaoran looks at his dragon telling the dragons apart by the color of their scales. His dragon’s scales are the same color as fire and when the sun hits the scales perfectly the scales are bright as a flame. Syaoran checks over his dragon seeing how strong his dragon is. The Fire dragon is muscular capable of holding out in a battle against anything. Syaoran notices that the tail has spikes at the end. He then finishes off a cup of coffee burning the paper cup to smoldering ashes. The Guardian dragons Kurot low to the ground for the Dragon Guardians to climb up into the saddles.

“We are taking the all of you to a sword master in the spooky forest. He knows everything about the Shogun and the many lords the shogun may have. He can teach you the sword fighting techniques and how to use spells in the form of elements.” advises the Fire Guardian dragon. “Quickly, get in the saddles before anyone sees. I fear spies have heard what we said. Darkness can tell what we said even in telepathic speech.”

The Dragon Guardians quickly climb up into the saddles tightening up the straps around their legs. The Guardian dragons rise to their full height flapping their large bat-like wings. They leap high in the air flying over the school as they flap even harder. Syaoran lets out a whoop as the wind whips by him. He stretches out his fingers soaking in the sunlight. The Fire Guardian dragon smiles as he soars into a gust of wind The Guardian dragons catch the gust of wind soaring on the wind as they head deep overhead of the Spooky forest. The moment they got close to the middle of the forest, the Guardian dragons dive down into a clearing weaving around the trees. Soon they came to an old wooden house with smoke coming out of the smokestack. A seemingly old man stands at the entrance of the house with a sword in his hand. The Guardian dragons land some paces ahead of the man making dirt swirl around them. The Dragon Guardians drop down from the saddles having a smile from their second ride on a dragon, which was much cooler than the first ride. The moment their feet touch the ground, the seemingly old man attacks them holding his sword in front of him. The Dragon Guardians wield out their dragon swords holding them in defense position. The old man picks out Sakura as the weakest target focusing only on her. However, this was all a trick to figure out who was the leader of the group. He saw Syaoran reach down into a pouch pulling out a dagger. The old man shifts his feet dashing towards Syaoran but he did not see the smile on Syaoran’s face. Syaoran throws the dagger right at the old man catching him in the cloak. The cloak rips off the person revealing him not to be an old man but a man in his thirties or forties. The man could possibly be either thirty-five or forty-five, could be even forty-nine. The man sheathes his sword clapping for Syaoran’s performance. Syaoran stills stands in defense position raising an eyebrow at the man.

“Well done, young one. You are fast on your feet and you do not give in that easy even when I sheathed my sword. That was a test to determine who was the leader of the group.” speaks the man. “I cannot believe that you are that great for a child. My name is Drake, former captain of guards at the castle of Enthranx.”

After hearing he was the former Enthranx captain of the guards, the Dragon Guardians sheathe their swords but still aware of Drake’s movements. Drake leads into his home where it is warmer than being in the cold shadows of the trees. Syaoran notices the many weapons in Drake’s humble home including the golden trident next to the fireplace. The Guardian dragons lay outside of the humble home watching for any intruders. Drake steps into the kitchen for a couple of moments then coming out of the kitchen with a tray full of cups of warm tea. The Dragon Guardians gradually accept a cup of warm; however, Syaoran makes his tea a little bit warmer.

“Our dragons tell us that you will train us in sword fighting techniques and some spells to do with our powers so we can hold our ground with the Shogun’s Ninja lord and his army of ninjas.” asks Fai. “What do you know of the shogun?”

“I know the Shogun from the early days of his adulthood where he was placed into my squad. He was a natural with a sword even creating new attacks. He was a hero in Enthranx until we assigned him to an assignment involving a dark lord.” admits Drake. “That day was the end of a good child.”

“What do you mean?” Fai asks again. “Did the dark lord corrupt his mind with evil magic? Or was his mind taken over?”

“Nobody knows, I figure the kid liked how much power there is to be with darkness. So I’m going to teach everything you need to know to stay away from the corrupted power.” advises Drake. “Tomorrow, I will teach you but tonight you should get a good night sleep with your dragons. Outside, you will learn how to deal with nature and get a grip with your powers.”

The Dragon Guardians take the last sip of their tea thanking Drake for the tea. Drake escorts them out the door giving them some sleeping pads and blankets plus a pillow for the night. He shuts the door locking it so none of them would try to enter. The Dragon Guardians curl up next to their dragons for warmth, which the dragons allow them to curl up next to them. The dragons thought of these young ones as their younglings, a maternal bond grew over their senses. The Guardian dragons hum lightly listening to the many voices of the Spooky forest. Before the first sunlight of the day, the Dragon Guardians were wake by the splash of cold water. Syaoran bolts straight up coughing up some water. Drake began their teaching from that moment not stopping until the moon was high in the sky. It seemed the Ninja lord forgotten about the perilous deed until Drake had them to leave for Enthranx.

“I have taught all I could to the all of you. You can certainly hold your end of a fight but the Ninja lord’s army is massive. You would do better in Enthranx where its lands favor in your advantage.” declares Drake, “Stay near the villages so the sentinels will be able to help you but keep your dragons out of sight. You can keep the sleeping pads, the blankets and the pillow for the rest of your journey. Be careful out there.”

The Dragon Guardians thank Drake for his generous gifts and for the training he has given them. They climb up into the saddles and their Guardian dragons take off into the sky. They soar high into the sky looking like distant birds from the ground. The Dragon Guardians crouch low to the saddles making the wind pass over them much easier. They soon enter back into the safe boundary of Enthranx just as nightfall hit the land. They land for the night to keep up their strength. The Dragon Guardians roll out the sleeping pads resting their heads on their pillows as they pull the blankets up to their necks. Syaoran is half asleep having a dagger under his pillow. Through the quivering glances of his shutting eyelids, he sees Sakura tiptoeing towards him. He tells himself he is just seeing things.

However, he feels her skin brushing up against him as she gets under the blanket. He strokes her back with his finger settling his arm around her stomach. Sakura moves in closer to Syaoran’s body, his breath breathing down on her neck. Syaoran kisses her on the back of her neck before going back to sleep. Sakura feels safe in his arms falling fast asleep. The Fire Guardian dragon opens an eye looking at the Thunder Guardian dragon who gives him a smile. The Fire Guardian dragon winks back to the Thunder Guardian dragon. Meanwhile back at Drake’s humble home, Drake was slain by the Ninja lord but Drake killed twenty of the lord’s best ninjas. The Ninja lord is furious that his spies did not manage to tell him that the Dragon Guardians are no longer with Drake. He instructs the last of his best ninjas forward having a plan to use them.

“Find the Dragon Guardians and get rid of them. Ask the Minotaur lord for help if you need it.” commands the Ninja Lord. “Better yet ask the Thief lord for help. His thieves might be better spies than you have been lately.”

His best ninjas nod to him quickly following out his commands. The ninjas run off to the distance following the rough trail to the Thief lord’s manor. The ninjas are wearing jet-black silk robes keeping their faces hidden underneath a silk mask. A jet-black katana sword hangs from their waist keeping their swords in a jet-black sheath. The ninjas despise of the Thief lord because of his tricky ways and crazy ideas that seem to impress the Shogun. The captain of the small squad told seven ninjas to recruit the Minotaur lord into the battle while the rest go get the Thief lord. The seven ninjas disappear down a rough game trail taking the easiest path to the Minotaur lord.

Meanwhile, the Dragon Guardians have just started to wake to the morning light preparing for the day to come. They prepared themselves to walk for the whole day, as their Guardian dragons must hunt for food and make sure no one is following them. Remember, shadows are apart of darkness so they are like spies for darkness lovers. With a wave of his hand and muttering the right words for the spell, a fire ignites in the middle of the camp so at least they can some tea with their dried meat. Syaoran rummage through his pack, made out of ox leather skin with metal bars to keep its frame, taking out a stick of dried meat. He chews on the end of the stick trying to figure which path they can take. If they take the path to the west, they will venture too close to the border and might get in range with the army of ninjas. The path to the east takes too long and tends to go too close to the ocean. The path to the north takes them to Syaoran’s home village and Syaoran would like to stay far away from there for a good reason. The path to the south would not do them any good. Syaoran looks up from under the brim of his hood seeing his friends are just sitting around the fire.

“It pains me to say this but we are going have to take the path to the north which leads into my home village. We might have to stay there for a while to keep our dragons’ well fed. They will have to hunt for the rest of the week to keep their strength up if we have to fight.” admits Syaoran. “The trip to the village, Dire Sire, would take a normal traveler a day or two but I can get us there before noon because I know some short cuts through those hills over there.”

He points his finger over to the distant hills making his friends look over to them. After having somewhat of a breakfast, the Dragon Guardians heaved their packs over their shoulders starting their journey to Dire Sire. Syaoran leads them across rocky paths and rivers, around some forests. Twenty minutes later, Syaoran is carrying Sakura on his back, which Sakura has her arms tightly wrap
around his neck. Her mouth is nuzzled up against his neck, sometimes, kissing him on the neck. When they got close to the distant hills, which have surprised the others to be more of than just a hill, Sakura is walking behind him following up the last rocky path to Dire Sire. Syaoran climbs up to the top pulling his friends over the last edge. They stand on the other side of the large hill looking down onto the village Dire Sire. The village was quite quaint with little watchtowers guarding the villagers from nomadic raiders. Two spearmen are posted in front of the two watchtowers, always sharp for the slightest sign of an attack. It used to be one until Syaoran has some little fun with the guards. It led to one of the worst moments of Syaoran’s life, being chased by a sleep-deprived for two months. The two spearmen allow the Dragon Guardians to pass through the gate but one of them stares at Syaoran not believing what he saw.

“What the problem?” asks his fellow guard.

“I thought I just saw Syaoran dressed up in dragon protector uniform like he was chosen. Could the rumors be true?” admits the guard.

“Nah, it was probably the trick of the light.” says the other guard.

The Dragon Guardians walked down the main street of the village passing by many of the villagers and Syaoran’s old neighbors. Each one of them looks at Syaoran with curious eyes, as if they recognize him. Syaoran brings the hood of his cloak down farther trying to conceal his identity. Syaoran leads them into an old inn to see an old friend about any local news. He spots his friend, which turns out to be a maid sitting at the back of the inn. She wears a yellow dress with a white apron, a rag sticks out of a pocket and her blonde hair is up in a ponytail. Syaoran cautiously walks over to her finding her to be sitting silently.

“How its going, Syaoran?” she asks.

“Not too bad, it could be a lot worse.” admits Syaoran. “How did you know it was me, Angela?”

“Only one person I know walks silently on his feet yet two pouches of daggers clink together at his side. You are the only person I know who still uses the throwing dagger technique.” speaks Angela in a low whisper. “I suppose you want the local news of Enthranx. The price is the same, one gold coin from somewhere else. I don’t think I should charge you because you probably don’t have any new ones.”

“I think this one may please you.” concedes Syaoran as he tosses her a coin. The spooky forest is on one side of the coin with a dragons head on the other side of the coin. Angela snatches the coin from midair staring at the spooky forest.

“The coin is accepted.” drones Angela. “Local news is that Enthranx is under attack by a person called the Shogun. His army consists of ninjas, Minotaurs, thieves and worst of all, samurais. Some people are leaving for the Enthranx castle for a calling all dragon protectors back to help with the war. Like the dead can come back alive. If I’m right, I recall one bulletin say that there is six new dragon protectors who call themselves the Dragon Guardians.”

“Never heard of them.” lies Syaoran. Angela looks at him with her maroon eyes studying him for a while. However, she returns to sitting there quietly with her eyes closed. The Dragon Guardians leave the inn walking back on the street.

“Never heard of them my ass, Dragon Guardian.” mutters Angela. “The fortune cards said you would do great things in your life. I see you met the person you are destined to love. I told you her name would end in a ‘y’ but I never said it was Jenny.”

Syaoran scratches behind his ear looking at Sakura with peculiar eyes, as if he heard everything Angela had said. He looks over to the horizon seeing that nightfall is coming. They cannot leave Dire Sire as the raiders attack everyone outside the village at night. Inns in Dire Sire are expensive and they do not have many funds. I guess we have to stay at the house even do I wish to keep my relatives out of this, thinks Syaoran to himself, it’s going to be a long week.

“Come on, I know where we can stay for the rest of the week.” admits Syaoran. “It just pains me that I have to return home.”

“Why would that be?” asks Kuro. Syaoran looks from him to Sakura and Kuro quickly gets it. Kuro drops his voice to a whisper so Sakura will not hear. “Oh, I see, your family expected you to marry Jenny but now you come home with another girl.”

Syaoran gives out the faintest smile gulping down his fears as he knocks on the front door to his family home. A young girl, probably around the age of thirteen, with long blonde hair and chestnut eyes answers the door wearing a red dress with a white apron on the front. She blankly stares at Syaoran then focusing on the travelers.

“How may I help you?” asks the young girl. “If you wanting to fight each other for my hand in marriage, you will just have to wait until the festival of Love tomorrow like all the rest.”

“Very funny, Amanda. You know it is me.” asserts Syaoran. “So are you going let me in or out?”

“Yes, I just didn’t think you are the kind of person who would take into a dangerous job like this. Wait, this dangerous job perfectly suits you because you are nuts.” jokes Amanda. “Well come one in, we are not heating the outdoors.”

Amanda leads them into the house walking into the kitchen to talk to the parent of the house. Syaoran’s aunt, Amanda being Syaoran’s cousin, walks out of the kitchen staring at her nephew. She studies the uniform, a smile forming around her lips. His aunt secretly knew that Syaoran would one-day rise from peasant to dragon protector since his father was once a Dragon Swordsmen.

“Welcome back, Syaoran. I see that you decided to follow in your fathers’ footsteps.” admits his aunt. “I assuming you need a place to stay while some dark lord pursues after you? Just keep it down to a minimum volume.”

“There is something else we must talk about, aunty.” advises Syaoran. “In the kitchen, alone.”

His aunt nods her head walking back into the kitchen with Syaoran trailing behind him. Amanda shows the others to the living room to discuss what her cousin has been up to over the past months. She has taken a shine to Fai in a loving way. Sakura looks to the door Syaoran and his aunty passed through thinking she should eavesdrop on the conversation. She presses her right ear up against the door listening to the conversation.

“I cannot marry Jenny. I no longer love her.” speaks Syaoran.

“After what you told me, you have every right to not marry her. Besides I see you have taken a shine to a new girl.” admits his aunt. “What’s her name?”

“Her name is Sakura, Thunder Dragon Guardian. I guess I’m just like my father, taking a shine to females who can hold their own in a fight.” says Syaoran, a smile around his lips. “I did that look on her to see if I can have a relationship with her.” Sakura holds her hands to her mouth to hold back a gasp. She wants to be Syaoran’s girlfriend so badly.

Syaoran and his aunt are done talking and Sakura quickly moves away from the door silently moving into the living room. Fai and Yukito managed to keep Amanda making sure Sakura does not get in any more trouble. Syaoran and his aunt walk into the living room and Fai looks to Syaoran trying to study his face. One of the tricks Drake had taught them was that a person’s face can give away more than the person’s actions or what he says. However, Syaoran has been able to hide what he is thinking even before Drake taught them.

“You all can stay here for as long as you need to. Amanda, get the sheets for the guests beds in the attic. Don’t worry, the attic was furnished to be a master guest bedroom that will suit up to five guests.” speaks Syaoran’s aunt. “Syaoran, you have to sleep in your room.”

Syaoran looks from his aunt to Sakura, whom is busy in thought. She still cannot believe that Syaoran wants her to be his girlfriend and she plans to show her true feelings to him that very night. It was getting late and the Dragon Guardians are tired from their long journey to Dire Sire. They thank Syaoran’s aunt for her hospitality following Syaoran up to their rooms. Syaoran departs from them at the stairs of the guest rooms walking into his own room. Sakura smiles a lovely smile watching Syaoran walk into his room. She walks up the stairs to the guest room choosing the bed close to the door. Five hours later when everyone is sleeping, Sakura gets out of her bed wearing a silk robe pajama on her lush, sexy curved body. She tiptoes down the stairs testing each floorboard for creaks. If one floorboard should creak, she would step over the floorboard. After skipping five steps, Sakura made it to the landing creeping over to the door to Syaoran’s room. She turns the doorknob walking into the room. Syaoran is fast asleep on the bed lying on his back, which greatly helps Sakura.

“Syaoran, wake up.” whispers Sakura. “I want to talk to you.”

“This better be good. I was finally asleep.” speaks Syaoran.

“Oh, this will be good.” says Sakura.

Sakura quickly gets under the blanket kissing Syaoran on the lips. Syaoran wraps his arms around Sakura’s waist holding her closer to his body. Sakura kisses him passionately lying on her back beside him. For half an hour, Syaoran and Sakura stare at the ceiling with their hands twined together. Syaoran looks at Sakura for a moment thinking if he should ask her the question.

“Sakura, I have been wondering since that night after our first battle as a team.” speaks Syaoran. “Please be my girlfriend.”

“Yes!” shrieks Sakura in a low tone. “I want to be your girlfriend so I can hear that you love me and to tell you that I love you too.”

She kisses him full on the mouth pressing their bodies close together. When she stops, she was on top of Syaoran kissing him more passionately than before. They both soon fall asleep after the long day sleeping in a loving embrace. That night, thieves and ninjas along with Minotaurs dash across the meadows heading in the direction of Dire Sire. They might reach the village before dawn. However, the Minotaurs are running fast than their companions because they smell the blood of a dragon protector and they are hungry to have the blood of a dragon protector run down their throats. The alpha minotaur blows into a horn alerting squads ahead of them. A horn is heard way of head of them telling that they have just killed the two guards in front of the village and is heading into the village. The alpha Minotaur smiles diabolically blowing into the horn to give permission to enter. Unfortunate for them, since his parents was killed by Minotaurs Syaoran can tell if Minotaurs are nearby by sensing their tracks or getting the slightest whiff of their musky odor that be smell for miles. Syaoran sits straight sniffing the air like a dog. The strong musky odor of a minotaur who has not bathe in weeks, probably months, fills his nostrils making him alert.

“Sakura, wake up. We got Minotaurs loose in the Dire Sire village.” declares Syaoran. “Go wake the others quickly before they get further into the village.”
