A short poem I wrote about politics.
It came
It trembled
gnashed its teeth in anger
wearing a white mask
its noxious breath
seeping 'cross fifty.
It claims to protect
while it bleeds us dry
favoring power
over souls in need
an ugly reflection
of the past.
It lies.
