Wrote on the spot by request of the girl it's about. Took me 3 minutes.
Let me tell you a story of a guy
Who would sit alone and always ask "why?"
No real friends to talk to and say
"Hey guys, want to hear about my day?"
Until the day this guy met that girl
The kind that would make your stomach curl
And nervous as he was, he didn't sit back
And let his emotions go in full attack
With courage he sought to speak a few words
To the girl who sang sweetly, like two mockingbirds
But to his great despair, he found out some news
That was the last thing he thought he could use
So with a kick and a sigh, he stared at that night sky
Hoping that a star would pass him by
To make a wish, to sing a tune
To hear that voice, so gentle, so soon
That girl had a guy, and it's needless to say
He wouldn't have a chance at the end of the day
So on he went, by the by
Still sitting alone, always asking God, "why?"
