A metaphoric poem in what I see love as.
Love is a child
who lives in the heart.
The heart is a home
to all feelings of humanity.
Though, Hatred likes to live with
a couple of friends,
like Anger, Pride, and Greed.
They kick out Love,
the small, innocent child,
from her home.
She stays outside the heart,
waiting for the door to open.
Days go by, then weeks;
The heart, cold as ice.
However, Love still waits by the door,
shivering;
sitting on the snowy ground
as more snow falls
gently around her.
Years go by,
and Hatred and his friends pass away,
the heart being replaced by
Sadness and Loneliness.
Days go by, then weeks;
the door is now open,
and Love, the small, innocent child,
enters her home
to be greeted by her friends.
