A poem I wrote about my dad.
I hated you as a kid,

Resented you as an adult,

It was stupid what I did,

I know it wasn’t your fault,

You were never there,

I needed you with me,

It’s like you never cared,

Or seen what I could be,

You were my role model,

The person I wanted to become,

You trapped yourself in a bottle,

Some things just can’t be undone,

Time we’ll never get back,

Precious memories never made,

Now your world is black,

Visions of you start to fade,

I miss you so much,

I really wish you were here,

We could get back in touch,

You could ease all my fears,

You’re gone now forever,

I’ll keep you in my heart,

Will I forget you? Never,

I wanted a fresh start,

The advice you never gave,

Long talks we never had,

I’ll do my best to be brave,

Goodbye…I love you Dad.
