Tribute to a lost friend.
Where are you now?
I sit here thinking about you...
Why did you have to leave us
On that Tuesday in September?
It's been exactly one year now
Since you've gone away,
But the sadness of your death lingers.
It hurts me so much
That you're no longer here,
Even though we weren't best friends.
I wonder if you can hear my prayers,
Or maybe you're looking down upon me
As I write this poem,
An extremely small tribute
Compared to the greatness of your life.
So much turmoil has come
Between some of our friends,
Because they all miss you
And everyone deals with hard time
In their own way.
But at least I know
We'll never forget you,
For everyone you left behind
Holds you in their heart.
