Poem is about motherhood. Aislinn Rose and Kianna Marie, my girls, inspired this poem.
The love of a warm cozy hug
From small, soft chubby arms.
The sound of laughter from the bedroom
Where crashes cause alarm.
The screams of "No!, Mine!",
Ending in, "mommy, she hit me!"
Signaling the beginning of naptime.
The frequent trips to the park,
And the reading of Mother Goose nursery rhymes.
The kissing of every boo-boo,
And the wiping away of each tear,
Telling them there is nothing to fear.
The made up songs and the funny faces
That keep dinner from flying through the air
The splashing of water at bathtime,
And a small whisper of "na-night, mommy" at bedtime,
Makes being a mom wothwhile,
Enough to last a lifetime.
