Story In Her Eyes

I look into her eyes

Deep pools of blue overflowing with pain

Her pale pink skin framed by all natural blonde

How she hates the color

It simply reminds her of her stupidity

I can read her story by looking into those eyes

As an infant she suffered and survived a brutal home

A childhood filled with torment

A young teen rejected even by the rejects

As she approached adulthood

She finally found someone

Who accepted and loved her regardless of her past

She had finally found

Happiness, safety, love in their arms

And, too soon, it was taken away

She was left broken, alone, shattered, damaged

Now, as she stares at me, her eyes radiate pain

Slowly a single tear falls

As it drops from her chin her eyes slowly close

It will be the last she sheds over you

I open my eyes, wipe off my cheek

And turn my head away from the mirror.

Im moving on.
