Sadness is terrible!
Melancholy

I wade through savage waters,
anchored by regrets,
My heart bursts in floods.

The water spills from each thumping beat,
Drips to my sinking knees,
To worsen my struggle.

The island I see clearly,
It lays tranquil but far away,
With each step I only sink deeper,
Into pools of melancholy.

With each heart beat,
With each gasp,
I cling further,
Heartfelt wishes to float by,
And as I sink deeper and deeper,
Into swift rippling,
I must learn to face the tide.

I can fly,
I can leap,
But now I must swim to reach the dry,
Through burdensome emotions,
Dark and fathomless,
They drown my hopes to try.

And I sink farther down,
Into waters,
Dark Melancholy,
Without breath,
Without light,
I gasp through bubbles,
Hoping to break surface for air,
But the waves keep pushing,
And the heart keeps beating,
My emotions keep dripping,
Worsening my plight.
