For my friends. My friends pick me up when I'm down and they help me find my way
Running down an alley-way,
I'm looking for a door,
I haven't seen it for a while,
Recognition isn't sure.

I'm lost inside of my own soul,
I don't know where I am,
It is so black inside myself,
I know it's not a sham.

These filthy streets through which I run,
I know them very well,
Running hard I am now spent,
I clipped a box and fell.

I'm lost iside of my own soul,
I'm crying now inside,
It is so black inside myself,
And yet I cannot hide.

The darkened figures now came forth,
They mock me for so trying,
It is too much for me to take,
I'm ready now for dying.

I'm lost inside of my own soul,
I see now I can't win,
It is so black inside myself,
I've quit and given in.

I hear the figures now fall back,
I start to wonder why,
Looking up I see my friends,
Silently I cry.

"We're here for you," they tell me,
As they start to lift me up,
"We heard you were in trouble,
Here, drink from this cup."

After I had had a sip,
I asked them thankfully,
"Who knew that I was lost out here,
And also where to find me?"

"HE told us that you had great need,
Through others it is true,
But then we came through any maze,
To find, and then to help you.

You could have told us long before,
We would have helped you then,
We tell each other if we have need,
No matter where or when."

Then we smiled, one and all,
We headed out together,
We soon had left that darkened town,
And walked upon the heather.

And never again did I or any,
Struggle like a king,
When needing help, we spoke aloud,
And others that would bring.
