My first try at poetry. Based on my own personal experience.
Goodbye

He said he loved her.
He said goodbye.
They shared one last kiss.
She began to cry.

He called her today
Just to say “Hi.
Can I come and see you?”
She asked him “Why?”

He wants to be friends
And just hang out.
She’s not ready for that
Without a doubt.

He starts to get mean
He calls her names.
She can’t understand
What’s up with his games.

He broke up with her
Yet he can’t let her go.
If she moves on
It would hurt him so.

What does he want?
Does he love her or not?
He’s not even sure.
But he’s lost a lot.

She needs to move on.
Get on with her life.
Wants to find a nice man
To make her his wife.

Goodbye is so final.
He made a mistake.
He couldn’t admit it.
Now he’s dead in the lake.
