More Than Okay

I love you
I’m frustrated
You’re crying
I soothe you
I’m crying
You smile
And say I love you
And suddenly
It’s all okay

You fear
I hold you
I fear your pain
You hurt yourself
I kiss it away
And say I’m sorry it hurts
I wipe your tears
You say, it’s okay Mommy
And it is

You laugh
I remember
I savor your childhood
I laugh
You get tickled
Your eyes light up
I weep for joy
Thankful for you
It is more than okay
