A poem about one of my favorite buildings on campus.
It looms before me.
Red brick and cement pillars.

Inside these walls
I can relax.
My home away from home.
My brick sanctuary.
I come here to escape.

Sit on plastic chairs
where I read a book
do my homework
listen to my iPod.

Doors open and shut
students and professors rush by.
The daily rat race
that is college life.

Here in the moments before class
I sit back and look around.
This building is more than just
red brick and cement pillars.

To me it has
a feeling
a story.
Inside these walls
I am somebody.
