A Girl sits and waits for the man that will never come
Live to love, love to live
in sleepless hours, I await.
Pawing at my own skin in hopes your embrace will chase the cold away.
But the dawn has come and gone and come once more
to leave me in bitter shame
for waiting and hoping and dreaming
of forgotten returns into my domain.
I spring to life and run like wind
into the steel blades of grass you sowed
I call upon a heavenly place
as the moon tells the stars of my tears.
And they laugh down at me,
this frail little thing
in a field all her own.

Live to love and love to live
you told me so long ago
in the chaos of simplicity and the complexity of sanctity
the ogres and angels created clarity for minds of everlasting absence.
I call to you in silent nights and sing songs of hope and prayer
of magical things in fairytales as petals of sparrows wings trickle from an unforgiving sky.
My feet shall bleed in standing still but scar me if I move
and so I call to you and wait for such the reply that would bring a heart to sob
I was your junkie, you were my drug, invading my spirit with fluidity of words
capturing me, as men like you do, binding me to love only those students in the windows of your school
but you closed them love, you shouted love, you walked away in the cold of night...

live to love and love to live
I wait for your arms once more.
Eternity in a day, a day is my eternity
in waiting
and hoping
never knowing
to kiss lips of the divine once more.
