yes, we really did walk through a Wendy's drive-through.
Maybe it’s just me, but doesn’t everyone have something crazy they think about doing? Just something random, like walking through a drive-through of a fast food restaurant. If you’re thinking that it would be pretty funny, you should try it. I did try it, and all I can say is that you should’ve been there
It was summer break, I think it was August, and once again I found myself in Utah. My mom volunteered to our family friend drive Lauren and my sister Abby (who are one year apart) to a BYU volleyball camp, so I decided to tag along. We drove down all in one day, and got settled into the Hampton Inn at about 10:30pm. As some of you may know, after every long drive what are you? HUNGRY So my sisters Amy, Ashley, and Ashley’s boyfriend Jonathan, met up with all of us to grab a bite to eat. There was a Wendy’s walking distance from the hotel so we headed there on foot because getting back in a car after 12 hours of driving wasn’t sounding so hot. Hey, we even saved some gas money We were originally planning on sitting down inside, but with our luck, only the drive through was open when we got there. Now you’ve got to understand that public businesses close very early in Utah. Pretty much the only places you can find open are Walmart, fast food chain restaurants, and night clubs. Call me crazy, but I doubt we’d find a good meal at Walmart or a club. We didn’t feel like going clubbing any way Anyway, we were too lazy to go back and get the car, so the most logical thing to do seemed to be to walk up and try to order. We stood at the big menu( they’re pretty cool up close) for quite a while but the speaker never came on for us to order so we walked up to the window. The attendant quickly told us that we needed a car to get service right before she slammed the window shut. Talk about DISCRIMINATION Maybe she thought we were a gang on the prowl or something, but I don’t think she would’ve opened that window if the death star was landing on the roof We could see we weren’t going to get anything and we thought it would probably be a good idea to get out of the drive through because there were cars behind us. One car even offered to get our food for us and we could just pay them back, but we politely declined the offer(the fact that it was two guys and they had there rap music cranked to the max so it was shaking the car kind of helped in that decision). We sat on the concrete road dividers and contemplated what to do next. We decided to hike, I’m not kidding when I say hike, up to a McDonald’s we’d seen earlier that wasn’t too far away. But the craziest thing happened. The McDonald’s was closed Drive through and all I’d never even heard of a McDonald’s being closed We retraced our steps and knew the smartest move would be to go get our car and drive through somewhere. Amy refused to give business to Wendy’s because the lady there was so rude so we went to find somewhere else. After half and hour of fruitless driving we finally gave in and let my mom go get Wendy’s. I had a bacon cheeseburger and a frosty by the way.
I don’t know if the lady working there recognized my mom when she drove back through, but either way, I bet she is out there somewhere telling almost the same story, and laughing just as hard
