someone once told me, the best things in life are free.
Someone once told me that the best things in life were free. I was 12years old, so all i could do was scoff at the crumbiness of that old cliche. It might not always be true, but it definately does apply to some situations.
As i sat in Starbucks with a close friend, a macdonalds and a cheap chocolate bar, we talked about the deep meaning of life and where we want to be in 20years time. We spoke about friendships (and their inevitable difficulties), about families, 'what-ifs' and mistakes and regrets. I realised that although everything we spoke about included money, and the good quality of life we've had throughtout our lifes, even if we were poor, we could still have this conversation and possibly still the same answers.
It's the same when you're doing something that you hate, you absolutely detest and would never ever want to do in your life except suddenly you can't think of anything better to do because you have a friend or a partner to join in with you.
You need money to get places in life (either that or raw talent but thats quite rare), you need money to house yourself, feed yourself and dress yourself. but money can't buy you friends. It can sweeten them and encourage them to get to know you but at the end of the day, if they truly dont like you or you dont like them, then theres never going to be a future for that friendship.
Children's dreams never involve poverty, and a limited amount of money but if only people could understand the value of life. It's like being enriched and you seem to see life in a different way.
