I wrote this poem for my wife to be
If we could run away today
We'd fly we'd fly we'd fly away
Beyond the ether stars and years
Just me and you we'll leave our fears
So far behind what we will see
When we look back is memories
And there they will remain in place
In gravity in time and space
I'll look at you you'll look at me
My eyes on you your eyes on me
We'll dance and swing and sway and sing
Out in the heavens orbiting
In love so true and deep to breathe
With every breath still confessing
With gratitude how blessed we are
To be together a new star
Our Lord will make us one to fight
In night's darkness we'll be bright
He'll send us back when he sees fit
And with his pinky gently flick
Hand in hand we'll fling through space
Back toward that old familiar place
Colliding with the atmosphere
Brightly burning that old fear
I'll lean on you you'll lean on me
Both of us on bended knee
Before our Father earnestly
Seeking him in prayer we'll be
And being one we'll follow him
All our days in joyful hymn
For without God all love would die
He's the source our tree of life
I love you cause he loves me
My lovely wife you're soon to be
Very soon we'll take that flight
The day is coming and in sight
