What it feels like to endure the depression associated with bipolar disorder.
Winter bears upon my soul
with the first snowflake of doubt.
Soon I am blanketed in fear,
hopelessness,
misery,
blackness,
and pain.

Winds rush along the eaves of my mind
cutting through each branch of conscienceness
whispering as if through trees
whipping,
whistling,
whittling,
and strong.

Coldness sets into my life
frosting all things great and small.
chilling me to the bone
chattering,
chittering,
clambering,
and crushed.

Deadness lies all around
encircling me into its fate
surrounding me into its fate
surrounding with emptiness
cutting,
bludgeoning,
belittling,
and cruel.

Sadness works its way in . . .
