a poem inspired by a casino.
Temptation

A glittering, glamorous mask
Presents first class elegance.
The blinding vision hiding the purpose
With beauty only skin deep.

The façade of sophistication
Disguises the addictive truth
With echoes of just one more.
It’s the perfect reflection of greed.

Chink of coins and rustling notes
Tempt the innocent passing by.
Tempers wax and wane on winnings
But only one person wins every time.

The rising sun sees losers walk,
Depressed, ashamed and out of cash.
The ethereal moon sees them back again
Determine to win in the nest of corruption.
