A last choice can be a final choice and no going back
One Side:

His embrace warms me, makes me feel safe.
He blocks out the pain and the strife.
He deafens the noise and blinds out the sights...
His only payment is the rest of your life.

A salesman he is...
    his wares: eternal bliss --
a product with an ironclad guarentee.

For once you are sold,
    you'll never grow old
and your problems will leave with the breeze.

The Other Side:

There's a still peacefulness about me,
as I come to see you again.
You aren't laughing or holding me now...
your eyes are cold, my friend.

Why did our days pass by so fast?
Why couldn't we have been together?
Even now, after everything,
    Why couldn't we last forever?

Because you never really know, or understand,
just what a person means to you until they’re taken from your hands.
An inspiration... an artist...
maybe a musician... or just a man.

I never got to say good-bye.
Or hold you one last time.
I look back now through the tears
and wish for one last rhyme.
