Potential poems/rhymes for a modern day life and living, coffee table book.
The ice caps are melting, we all knew,
rising sea levels, that was our clue.
All around eroding,
carbon footprints exploding.

Animal extinctions.
Human afflictions.
The habitat shrinking,
land grab—What were we thinking!

Plants not growing,
arid land for sowing.
Fossil fuels diminishing,
life with oil finishing.

Population expanding,
everyone demanding.
Friction evident,
tempers spent.

Resources at the brink,
under rubbish we sink.
Pollution in evidence,
air thick and dense.

A throw away generation,
to the planet no compensation.
Recycle we can,
it must be the plan.

Nature sold,
not brought into the fold.
Unable to buy it back,
no matter how big the stack.

The clock is ticking,
time is not sticking.
We must act as one,
before the world’s gone.
