This is on how my family and I provided the needy kids with happiness and donations.
CHRISTIMAS. I have no words to define this amazing occasion. Every year my mom would bake a delicious cake and my dad would put up a Christmas tree. That's a typical Christmas for me. Christmas is the time when my family and I get together and remember the wonderful moments we spent with each other throughout the year. But as the year comes to an end, I realize how lucky I am to have everything I could ever imagine of, I am gratetful that I have all that I could ever need. But I know that some people may not be as fortunate as us.

Then I begin to think, do I really deserve what I have got? How could I accept this where as there are billions of other children about my age who are hungry, weak, poor and needy. They work so hard for every penny they earn, but when Christmas is around the corner, the prices go up. Now I was feeling that I should do something for them, for the children who don't have a grain to eat or a shelter above their heads.

I talked to my dad about this since I could not live with this burden on my head. I was feeling as if my whole world was falling apart. My father realized that we should do something for the poor and needy and that we must rise to the occasion and be gracious enough to donate old toys, clothes, food, utensils and other things for daily use.

So on Christmas morning, we went to the orphanage and contributed our share of help. The children loved the toys, even though they seemed old and ragged to me, they seemed a lot more than that to the kids. They gobbled down the food in no time and nowadays when I visit the orphanage, their ribs aren't sticking out anymore. The children looked so much better in the clothes and I knew I had crossed the stepping- stone of humanity.

Because of the initiative my family and I took, those kids are leading a much healthier and happier lifestyle now. Now, many families are coming forward and are giving money to charity so that the children could go to school and the fees could be paid.

Through this experience, I realized that 'you feel happy by seeing others happy'. I am glad that I helped and now I feel good about myself. Till today, I tap myself on the shoulder because I am proud of what I did.

So, next time when there is a special occasion, please help at least 1 child who is on the streets and needs your help. This is not just an article, but I hope that it inspires people to make the world a better place.
