This is on how looks really dont make a difference and that everyone needs a friend.
Jamie looked at herself in the mirror for the last time. She had a pimple arising from her cheek, her hair was tied in a ponytail, her skin had gone all dry and her ears had gone red. She wasn't perfect, nobody is. But it took more than that same old tagline to make Jamie realize that looks don't matter.

Jamie came into the class. All eyes were on her. Some girls were giggling in a corner of the room. Perhaps because of her looks. But the more they laughed, the more it hurt her feelings. She quietly walked to her desk and could not wait for the bell to ring.

The day was as rough as the entrance. Wherever she went, laughter followed. She hid her feelings from everyone. She had no one to confide in. She had no choice but to run to the girls washroom and shed her tears.

She was crying her heart out near the sink when she heard someone coming in. It was Courtney, the most popular girl in school.

"Hey", she said. Jamie was almost certain that she was here to make fun of her.

So she replied, "What are you doing here? Oh yes. I almost forgot. You are here to make fun of me like the other kids did, right?"

"No! You are getting it all wrong. Well, I am actually here to ask you if you're okay. I know how you feel", said Courtney.

"How do you know how I feel? You are the prettiest and most popular girl in the whole entire school. Everyone likes you. How would you know what I am going through?" she said.

"Jamie, I was not always like this. Trust me, I was just like you. I had braces, wore glasses and I had pimples all over my face. And then, I got sick of people teasing me, so I changed myself completely. That was the biggest mistake I ever made. I became popular and ended up losing my friends. I lost the only happiness I had in the world. And now I don't want to see you changing for the bad like I did. Being popular can be very lonely. You need a friend. Come with me", said Courtney.

Courtney was dragging Jamie. It was more of a shock than a relief.

As Jamie and Courtney walked down the school hallway, everyone was staring but no one dare giggled. Seems like Courtney had the power to make everyone shut up.

And from that day onwards Jamie and Courtney were best of friends. And now, no one cares to laugh at Jamie.

Now when Jamie looks into the mirror, she doesn't notice the pimple or her hair. she noticed the real her. She had become confident about herself all thanks to Courtney.

Courtney proved that everyone needs a friend. And without them, where would the world be...
