The prologue to my story.
Mila stands there, still unsure of what she's doing, of where she is, hell she isn't even sure who she is. I can see it in her eyes. I keep trying to search her mind, but I'm coming up empty, a single logical statement continues to make rounds through her thoughts.
"It is so cold."
And the worst part about hearing that is, there is nothing I can do to warm her. I am her lover, her fiancee, her world, and there is nothing I can do to help her. I cannot drive away this cold because it is not of her body, it has nothing to do with the 75 degree weather we are standing in. It is a cold that is resontaing through her soul, touching her heart, and mind, iceing things over and giving the world a look of distortion. She calls out my name and reaches her hand out, and for a moment I think that maybe she is coming out of it. but her eyes tell the truth.
"Mila, Mila, hunny please talk to me, say something, open your eyes, anything, please!" Despite the fact that I feel my attempts are useless I continue to utter  pleas  to bring her back to this world. She's been gone for such a very long time now.
