A short poem I wrote for poetry.com which is being published in the next volume.
It did not begin until it had already faded,
at a velocity unlike any we have obtained,
A spark and the show is over,
Total emptiness fills the void left in its wake.

A silent breath and the air is gone,
Left only to simmer in its malevolent bonds,
Only a caress would get me bye,
And a voice over the phone comes to cry.

I rest my head on my arms,
My eyes staring blankly into the table top,
I know I've lost, I always do,
Sometimes I cannot bear this pitch life threw.

As I close my final chapter,
In this novels ending light,
I feel the will to begin,
This whole series anew.
