A girl who is "wearing" a mask
There is a girl
Behind the mask
Who hides there every day
To keep away from the evils
That visits to her each day

But the mask isn't helping
It only makes things worse
She still hears what people says
So mean
Her insides hurt

But her mask must smile
And it tells her every day
"If you would just subside to me
Your happiness would come
And you would no longer be sad"

But the girl behind the mask
Knows that this isn't true
But the mask has decided this is it's home
And it will not be refused
And so it stays

The girl behind the mask
Suffers every day
Because the girl she wanted to become
Didn't work, it makes things worse
But she tries to not cave in

The mask it starts to laugh at her
To make her give in
It knows that laughing makes her cry
And by crying it can win
But she fights

The mask it makes thing worse for her
It makes her notice the whispering
And feel that she is always alone
That her friends will leave
And they'll never be the same

And the girl behind the mask
She forces herself not to cry
But the mask is getting to her
From all of it's lies
And cruel thoughts

The mask was suppose to protect her
From the evilness of the world
But instead it's only let it in
Making life for her
Get worse

And the girl behind the mask
Knows of her mistake
And knows if she had been herself
Things would have turned out
Ok

But she was to scared
The past would happen again
And looking at the possible future
She created a mask to hide her fears
So she wouldn't have to linger

And so the mask is on her face
Pretending to be happy
But the truth is she isn't
She's only as sad
As before.

The mask it seems so evil
To the people looking in
But the truth is it must look evil
So one day the girl behind it
Can win

You see the mask wishes for her to be free
Though it never says
It's only doing what it was built for
Making her stronger
Again

It tells her entirely what she hates
To make her see the truth
Though words can hurt you everyday
You can survive
When needed to

It makes her eyes burn with tears
So only to make her strong
It makes her voice hard and squeaky
Helping her talk things along
Not to hurt

The mask can be seen as evil
When wanted to at times
But it is only trying to help
The girl who wears it
To be strong

And once the girl
Has grown strong enough
The mask will finally leave
To let the girl live
