This is a poem about love as i knew it in the beginning.
You came to me when I was fifteen.
When you came you were "mean".
I don't know if anyone would speak of love this way.
But trust me it was the best word to fit this poem today.
If you were there with me when it came.
You would see that what im saying is not a game.
The guy involved was really lame.
I know that now so i'll use him to blame.
Blame him for messing up my vision of love.
At the time I could see no wrong .
But in the end I was stuck singing a sad song.
When your young important things have no meaning.
So there was no need to put his love under screening.
Loving him so much at the time I could bust.
Not knowing he could be someone I can't trust.
But I had to put this love thing to the test.
This was overshadowing the rest.
When things blew up in my face.
Instead of feeling mad,
I should've felt like i just won a race.
