Life goes on no matter what you're going through
The tide still rises,
the tide still falls.
The wind still blows,
the dove still calls.
The world still spins:
round and round it goes.
Still, no one seems to notice
as she numbs all her woes.

Waves of grief glaze her over
as her heart melts into nothing.
Tears fall from soft green eyes.
Storms eternally raging--
Rolling thunder drowns out her cries.
A heart once warm with trust
is now frozen, ice cold.
All bliss now stomped into dust.

Lying naked on the street corner
watching her "friends" pass her by.
If only she had a blanket,
someone to hold her nigh;
maybe the rain wouldn't fall so hard
and pierce every fact of being.
Curled up on the street corner--
with you she is pleading.

The tide still rises,
the tide still falls.
The wind still blows,
the dove still calls.
The world still spins:
round and round it goes.
Still no one seems to notice
as she numbs all her woes.

Let her continue to decay
and kick her while she's down
or lend a helping hand?
Stop watching her drown!
Mend her withering spirit.
Bind her broken heart.
Show her what it means to trust
and don't tear her apart.
