this piece is about my sister. i hope she finds her way
I once knew a girl.
She had a future that was shady but hopeful.
No one could have seen the fate she has chose for her self.
I do like to think that others have chosen her fate.
She follows, never listening to those who are trying to help.
She wanders around trying to find a place in this world.
She finally finds a group that seems somewhat hopeful for her.
They live a life that she thinks she wants.
They tell her lies and she listens.
Her real friends tell her the truth and she rolls her eyes in denial.
She is convinced that this is the life she wants to live.
So we let her.
We watch painfully as we see her make destructful life decisions.
What can we do?
She is of age.
She wouldn't care what we said anyway.
If I poured my heart out on a plate made of diamonds and gold, she would throw it at me.
She would tell me that she knows what she is doing and to just leave her alone.
I can't.
I would never abandon her feelings or make her feel bad, for the choices she has made.
I just don't want to see her fall apart.
I fear it might be too late.
We can only do so much.
I can only stand so much.
I once thought that maybe she would do something for herself.
I was never sure of what it would be.
People limited her future by telling her she couldn't do things that normal people could do.
To me she is normal.
Some people just never gave her the credit she deserves.
She deserves more than what has been handed to her.
I only pray that she opens her eyes and finds what she is really worth.
Worth more than the heart that was bled out to her on a golden plate, fitted with large diamonds.
So, I will wait.
Someday she will know.
She will know that certain people do not define her life.
Decisions made to today can cause trouble tomorrow.
To rely on herself.
To believe in herself.
To live for herself.
I will be there when that day comes.
I will have never doubted that one day she would find herself.
And maybe someday she will be that girl I once knew.
