This is a poem that was written after my biological father and I went our seperate ways.
I fail to see my short comings when I place them next to yours.
You bear the weight of self-imposed ignorance.
Your sight is loathsome to me
         -for what they say you’ve never been
You’re defended and allowed your illusions because of YOUR fragile heart.
While I am told instead to grow up and let go of childish grudges.
I refuse to let go
         And
I refuse to pretend.
For this I affront your pretense of peace.
So be rid of me as you seem so eager
         But
Be wary my passing for I have heard it said
“anger a demon from your past”
a quote beautiful accident
“and it will always stare at you from portraits”
         -for that is all I leave you with
