Short story of a broken heart
A woman looked intently up at her daughter on the merry-go-round as she waved excitedly. Her husband walked over and slipped his arm around her waist. He handed her a steaming polystyrene cup and she smiled, looking up into his dark eyes.

The biting wind blew sharply passed my ears making me shiver. He wasn't going to come. He never came. Well, he hadn't for the past 2 years, why should he start know? I abandoned the idea of waiting. It had only been an hour, but patience was not one of my most reliable traits.

I followed my feet to the beach. I took of my shoes, it was dark and no one was down there. It was freezing and I realised I was probably going to get frostbite. Okay. Realism is also one of my unreliable traits. Anywho. I walked, shoes in hand down to the edge of the water. The waves were quite rough and occasionaly the icy-cold water flew over my feet. I looked up at the sky, and closed my eyes. The last picture I had in my head was the stars shining bright against the black sky.
