A naughty child dreads what he will find in his stocking (Writer's Cramp 40 Lines)
Stocking Dread

I woke up this morning and prayed
That Santa didn't see me dump that lemonade
On Sandy Fisher's head when she made fun of me,
Or see me break my mom's glass egg
Throwing it at my brother 'cause he kicked my leg

I hope he didn't hear me when I called
Jackie Miller a stupidhead
Right after he tripped me... on purpose,
Or see me when I punched Matt in the teeth
And got suspended for a week,

Maybe Santa didn't hear me talking back to my teacher
I only did it a couple of times....a day
Anyway, I made good grades ....In music and P.E.
But that's cause I always practice running ....down the halls ...
And thumping my foot to the beat...in the library.

I'm really hoping it's too late
For Santa to know about yesterday
'Cause I stole Dad's garden poles
To make a bow and some arrows
And then I had to borrow some laces...

Off Dad's new leather shoes
Cause his were thinner than mine
And I just had to try out my bow.....right then
But the pointy rocks I used for arrowhead
Cracked a window in our den

So, if Santa Claus heard about yesterday
I'll have to wrap up that coal and give it to Dad
To use as a paperweight, but...if he didn't hear
I will live in dread for yet another year.
So here I stand, stocking in sight, reaching ... closer ...

As my hand brushed the furry stocking top
I dreaded what I would find.  But let's be honest
If you were Santa, what would you put in mine, gifts and treats
Or a lump of coal...after what I did this year,
So I held my stocking with dreadful woe and prayed for clemency

Cause that stocking of mine I cradled in my lap
Sure was awful heavy...and lumpy...and kinda cold...
And then my fingers reached in and grasped......

Now, you didn't really think I'd tell you if I got presents or coal
Shhhh...It's a secret.... only for Santa and me to know.
