My first real attempt at poetry. I was confused at the time.
Does my heart rest on Venus?
And my sanity on Mars?
They both shelter war
Battled amongst stars

My soul on a glass shelf
Aspiring vanity
Yet it is ugly as sin
In heaven's asperity

It will shatter and break
All the fragments bring blood
Red like spilled wine
On a platter of mud

Throw not riches
Throw not peace
At vulgar promise
Gluttons shan't feast

It cannot be done
It cannot end
Unless one is ready
To accept all as 'friend'
