Setting yourself free from a brokenheart. I shortened the lines. Let me know if its better
Here I sit in the darkness
while the world sleeps around me.
In the quiet of the night
I can hear the breaking of my heart
My heart has cried so many tears
I fear my soul may drown
I feel I am at my weakest,
the darkest hour of the night
Thoughts of you in my midst.
I tried to run, tried to hide
but it seems to no avail
Everywhere I turn is your
ever haunting presence.
Now its time to let you go
and say my last goodbye.
I wish I could have one last kiss,
to touch you once again.
So with these final words I write
my heart will be set free
It will soar over the ocean in the sky so blue,
where once more
a smile true will part my lips once more.
my love for you will carry on with me, I know
but, day by day it will diminish
till it haunts my soul no more
