One of my published poems...wrote it during pregnancy
A Delicate Condition

My body is growing at an alarming rate.
One minute I'm loving, the next minute, I ain't.
I want the gift at the end of the rainbow.
I just didn't realize it would be so painful.
The rainbow for me has many bumps, turns, and twists.
No one told me it was gonna feel like this.
Heartburn and backache, uncontrollable crying.
Sometimes I feel like a part of me's dying.
My stomach often feels like it's on a rollercoaster.
What in the world is that smell from the toaster?
Somtimes I wish I could exit this journey.
But the only way out is on top of a gurney.
