First poem I ever wrote. Between Jr. high and highschool.
SEARCHING FOR ZIGGY

Sparkle lost
Where has it gone?
Glitter washed away like so many tears
The dust from the stars no longer falls
The satellite’s lost its love

Rebels no longer roam in platforms
Rules cannot be challenged
Imagination’s become taboo
Age of solar please come back home

Searching for Ziggy

Baby’s fire no longer burns
The goldmine’s been cursed with coal
Our leper messiah has been crushed underfoot
Illuminating stars no longer shine

Your hair so red like the fires of Hell
You could mesmerize us all with your entrancing words
Swallow us up with a gulp of your mind
Now you seem to be gone
You seem to be lost

We need you back
The search is on
Please shine for us
You’re our starman and we need your light
Our full-tension lives haven’t any slack

Come on
Get with the space sound again
Make our minds fly like a ship again
We must hear you to live again
Make us high on the space age again

Please intoxicate us
Please encircle us
Please entrance us
