life and hardships
Looking in the mirror
What exactly do I see
A person I don't recognize staring back at me

How'd I ever get this way
Why do I seem so strange
My face is lined, the puffy eyes
Hair that resembles mange

I don't remember feeling bad
Or even feeling down
But all the wrinkles tell a story
Especially within the frown

I didn't have a horrid life
My parents always there
I had the friends, the school, the gifts
Nothing I had to bear

But here I stand still looking puzzled
Wanting just a clue
To why I feel and look this way
My life, but now a zoo
