when you truelly mean something this is how you feel
It's hard to hear someone say they love you
Then add on there's also someone else
You think its something that you do
When really its how they always felt
You lie next to them and as you hold their hand
You try your hardest to fully understand
How you ended up sharing his heart
With someone you thought tore it apart
You got the extra pieces to try to make it mend
You've held on very closely and will until the end
I love you is something permanent, it's not just a game
Its something you can't take back, like trying to change your name
You've chosen those closely who get to hear these words
Checked once, twice and three times, just to make sure
Before you let the words run off your lips, you gave him a soft kiss
To make sure one last time it, was still something you couldn't resist
And as you pulled away, with tears running away from your eyes
The words play over in your mind; I really don't want to lose this guy
As you sit up late at night because it's hard to sleep
It's scary but wonderful how your heart is still skipping a beat
Though what's been said has been really hard to hear
And the thought of losing him is one of your biggest fears
You'll wrap your arms around him and try to hold on tight
Even if in the back of your mind, you know it could be the last night
You'll close your eyes and hope to wake from just a dream
Wish that things were still happy and that it's not what it seems
But denial can not become your new best friend
And the saying goes all good things must come to an end
There's always that one love that can prove it wrong
Your heart keeps telling you, he's with whom you belong
As I love you plays over and over in your head
You shed one last tear and finally go back to bed.
As you lie next to him, his heartbeat in your ear
It's hard to imagine being anywhere but here.
