one scene from a piece of fiction I'm writing
Steve walked into the bar at the airport.  He quickly scanned the tables, taking in the scene.  He noticed a slight woman sitting at a table by the windows.  She was desperately trying to ignore the man sitting across from her.  It looked like he was trying to pick her up and she wasn’t having any of it.

Steve ordered a beer and asked the bar tender for another drink of whatever the woman at the table was drinking.  Collecting both drinks, he walked over to the table.

“Sorry, I’m late, sweetheart.” He said putting down the drinks.  “Brought you a refill.”  He slid into the chair next to her and leaned over to kiss her cheek when she reached for the glass.  “Looks like you could use some help.” He whispered into her ear.  “follow my lead”

“So good to see you!” she said to Steve enthusiastically.  “Thanks!” she raised her new glass of diet coke in appreciation.
