I wrote this in history. Not my best work, but it's really personal.

As the sky darkens and the light fades
The scars of the past reopen
You remember who you once were
You remember the feeling

But then, you weren't alone
You had friends there with you
but in this new life
there is no one at your side

You go through each day
Seeing the glances
It never mattered
Until the glances pierced your shell

You thought things changed
You thought you had moved on
But you feel yourself slipping back
Slipping back to where you were before

So what do you do?
Go back to where you were?
Try and make it alone?
Or fight a losing battle...
