An early morning encounter between a mom and her baby.
Hey everyone, I think it's time to wake up;
no one should be asleep, not even the pup.
It's 2 AM, Mom, I am sure glad you came;
you don't look happy, am I the one to blame?

Where'd you put the makeup? And look at that hair!
Just kidding mother, can you pardon my stare?
Is Daddy getting up? Did you wake him yet?
I think it's his turn; I'm feeling kind of wet.

Your eyes are mighty red and you look real tired;
I'm a bit antsy and feeling kind of wired.
Do you have my bottle? Is it time to eat?
I'm so excited I can't control my feet.

You are so warm, I like to snuggle like this,
such a wonderful time and thanks for the kiss.
I sure love the way you chase away the fright,
with your gentle touch you comfort me tonight.

Your softly spoken words make such a nice song,
but I can't form the sounds to help sing along.
Maybe I'll giggle a bit to make you smile,
or grip your finger for just a little while.

I love baby lotion and all that powder,
sometimes they tickle and make me laugh louder.
What do you say we make this a nightly show?
I'll be right here, I have nowhere else to go.
