spur of the moment; trying to let go of some things on my mind
the ending didnt seem too bad from afar
to see the wreckage standing so close
to smell the burning sole of my shoe
watching the stretchers carry you away
it made me fall back into my old ways
wading the uncharted waters alone
without you standing next to me
i could feel myself falling more and more
so my feet carried me back to where you lay
to give you a proper goodbye as i waved
your hand gave a twitch
this was you saying goodbye this time
i never let the moment go that made me
not want the pulse of happiness beating through
these veins you would kiss when wounded
were happy you had left this life
perhaps it was because i, the sad one
was now stuck all alone
