These are the last lines of chapter 1 of the book I am working on. Kuki: A King is Born.
> Final moments of chapter one
>
Standing still at the edge of land and holding the prize of battle in her hands. Her feet were shaking, her hands shivering, her breath pacing, and blood was pumping fast.
Yet her face knew no fear as she held her eyes shut daring not to see the consequence of her actions. A Kulan army stood behind the would-be conqueror, but not yet, for the prize of war now hung on strings of silk. The joy of conquest lies in the shedding of royal blood.

Everyone stood still as she raised the baby high over her head, cold tears streamed out
> of her eyes and dripped all the way down to the ground. Still, Kulan stood alert, but the king gave no sign until she let go and the baby fell down the cliff into the loins of the river.

Zaali sank to his knees and screamed in uttermost anger pointing his sword at the source. The queen stood still and lifeless waiting for her doom. It was an ironic moment of silence and sadness; she had robbed them of victory but inflicted pain in her heart.

‘Now who shall cry for me, she said’.
