The story of the 13 Stars of Maglores and the secrets behind their creation, Pt 1
“You the blacksmith?” a man in ruined armor said to the elderly man, who was sitting on a barrel in front of the Large Blacksmith shop,
“How can I help you, young man?” the Blacksmith said in a shaky and ancient voice,
“I need my horse re-shod, and my sword could use a cleaning.” The man, obviously a noble, said as he motioned to his horse.
“That’s a beautiful Bataakian Stallion, southern, if I’m not mistaken?” the man said with a toothless smile as he grabbed the horses reigns, “And well behaved too. Milord, you spoil me.”
“I was wondering do you know where I can find a man about seven feet tall with pale skin and long silvery hair?” the noble asked.
“Nope, that is a feller I would remember, and I never seen him in these parts.”
“Thank you very much…” The noble said, then he turned his back to the blacksmith and continued, “…Alderious.”
The old man swung around and pulled a very beautiful diamond dagger out of his belt, “Mention that name again and I’ll run you through faster than you can ask my forgiveness.” He said in a completely different voice, his eyes suddenly blazed ruby, then returned to cataract dimmed blue, “what do you want Aleksandar.”
“You, I’ve spent the last three hundred years trying to find you, and here you are, a dirt-poor blacksmith in a shite covered village three miles south of your own mansion?” Aleksandar said under his breath, “Alderious, you made this world to need you, which means you can’t run away at the first sign of stress.”
“Aleks, this world never depended on me; it depended on the idea of me.” Alderious said, then he waved to two young women who walked past the blacksmith’s shop, “Kara, Janice, you’re looking mighty beautiful today, if I may say.”
“Jasper, you always spoil us, who’s your friend?” the blonde haired girl named Kara said in a cheery, clear voice,
“My name is Lord Aleksandar Venterious, Archduke of the house of Elrendos.” Aleks said with a bow, “I must say, you Imperial ladies are the most stunning in the Empire, but to travel this late, the sun set nearly an hour ago.”
“We fear not, Jasper scares all the bad men away from here, we were just off to visit my aunt, a maid to his lordship of Nætal, she is.” The black haired Janice said, her voice colder and sharper then Kara’s
“You ladies be safe, an' if you see his lordship, tell him Jasper the blacksmith sends his regards.” Alderious said, and then he turned back to Aleks and whispered, “What do you want with me.”
“The Stars, Alderious, it’s about the stars.”
Alderious turned his head slowly, his skin paling and tightening, and then it slackened back to its tanned, much wrinkled state,
“The stars are safe, the dragon lords are as immortal as I am, and they would never allow the stars to fall into the wrong hands.” Alderious said, but his voice held a trace of uncertainty, “what about the stars?”
“The Degas dwarves contacted me, it seems a large section of the Fire Mountains has become unsettlingly quiet, and there has been no sighting of Gorlaron for nearly six hundred years.”
“So Gorlaron is taking a nap, that’s hardly worth…” Alderious started, but a bone-chilling scream ripped through his sentence, “The girls!”
